Bongo Fury

Hi, I have a scissor jack in the bongo rated max 875KG... Im guessing that is too low, can anyone advise on the correct spec?

An EMPTY Bongo weighs about 1900kg.
If you use a jack to raise only one wheel/ corner at a time, the jack will need to be rated at 475kg. (1900kg divided by 4)
If you want to raise two wheels at once, the jack will need to be rated at 950kg. (1900kg divided by 2)

As I said at the beginning these are the lowest weights, the bongo will generally be heavier because you will have other things in the back from shopping, camping equip. conversion etc.

Also as a safety reminder, axle stands should be used to support the vehicle once raised because hydraulic jacks can fail with the result of the Bongo falling back down to the ground, squashing what ever is in it's path .... this might be you if you are working underneath!
Serious injury or death is the usual outcome.

Gotcha, so I *should* be ok if I only jack one wheel at a time and I dont have loads of weight inside.

Not keen on getting squashed either.

As Nigel said~it's really only to change the wheel in an emergency & fit's nicely in the compartment~you could do as some do & take a trolley jack with you but you've got to store it somewhere.
