Norma hoseclips

Hi all

Had a go today at replacing jubilee clips on the silicon coolant hoses with Norma constant tension clips. Does anyone know how tight they should be torqued up? The jubilee clips I torqued to 7NM, the Norma ones seem a bit 'lighter' than the Jubilee ones so did not dare to torque them up too much, left it at 5NM. The 'spring' bit however seems to be completely compressed, is that how it should be?

Thanks

K

On Norma's web page there's a picture of the clamps installed:

I don't know if the picture is useful, but the springy part doesn't look totally flat on a cold hose.

Makes you wonder...... must also add these guys are looking to keep the turbo boost hoses on.... But I guess the same could apply to water hoses even though they don't have so much pressure as a turbo hose.....
Then you also have to question the clamps they use if the hairspray does indeed do the job they claim it does.

thanks for replies all, 5NM looks to be about right then, I'll skip the hairspray bit...
