While my bongo is off the road, see thread on "Bongo Cuts Out" and it is still not fixed, I have been doing my home work on other aspects.
Is there a guide or explaination on how to replace the bulbs in the dash? by 'D' bulb is out! also while I'm in there I was to change the dials, I can find loads of posts about the dials but no where that explains how to actually replace them, any help would be appreciated!
Thanks Jim

there are 4 screws around the clock surround, 2 up in the top and the other 2 under the switches either side of the steering wheel, if you look from underneath you can see them all, undo and remove that part, you may hve to unplug switches etc if you have them in the slots, there are another 4 screws around the clocks in plain site now, undo and the clocks sould move, i usually put the right hand behind the clocks and pull them forward, the cabling is fairly free and has some slack so you can move them out to be able to get around the back, your clocks will gave 3 plugs all located at the top, in the middle they have a 'push down and pull' tag to disconnect them, depending on the chip and how it was fitted then the clocks should now slide out to the right, flip them over, the bulbs your interesed in are now on the left where you'll see 6 bulbs grouped together, slsightly staggered, you'll see they have P,R,N,D,S and L so its easy to identify, the bulbs are EB286's,holder is a quarter turn and pull and the bulb should just pull out with a small pair of pliers.
To get at the dials you'll see several (about 8 iirc) black tags poking through the white plastic )dont bother with the clear, that all comes off with the black bit), i usually pop the 3 on top and 1 on the sides and give the black/clear part a wiggle and it comes free asnd you should have access to the dials. removing the needles is tricky and can easily end up in destoyed internals, best technique i've found is 2 teaspoons on either side of the needle and lots of prayer!, when reassembling the dials in particular the sppedo it has to be re-connected and the igniton on (nice n tricky!) before you fit the needle to the 0mph position.

No they bend sufficient to get them over the needles, but there have been a couple of reports of failures and resulting damage to the meter.

Much easier than it sounds when you actually get to doing it - Honest!
