Eyup everyone

~hopefully you will be able to help
The missus is struggling a bit (dark nights) to find the ignition (to put key in) as unlike some motors the ignition dosen't light up.
There is a small hole (pushout piece of plastic) to the left of the keyhole~i'm struggling to find anything (bulb holder & bulb) suitable as it's a bit restricted inside cowling~has anyone fitted a light next to ignition keyhole?? if so could you tell me please where i can get one from
Any help appreciated

I've got a light there in fact my Dad commented how useful ... What about a light on her key fob instead - probably cheaper and easier ?

Has some one cannibalised the sound warning system (beeper) as the lamp should be powered from the same module;

There should be a lamp behind it, the circuit appears as below in the wiring manual for 1997-1999, so hence I wondered if any one had perhaps stripped out the warning bleeper box and maybe more ... hold on maybe your 1995-1997 in which case they don't appear to have the lamp installed, perhaps that's the case ?

Definitely a geen light on our 98 model: often thought how useful it is!
Perhaps you could rig up an LED running off the interior light circuit/door switch?

Yes thanks~ the problem isn't rigging one up,but don't know where to buy bulb & holder from & theres not a lot of room behind the cowling~~was wondering how big (at the back) the light is on the more modern Bongo eg 98/99 models cus the dash & steering wheel cowling looks the same to me as my 97 model.

OK. Sorry, I haven't yet had occasion to dismantle the cowling to check this out. I was thinking more along the lines of a small LED i.e low power, small device requiring only small gauge wiring to refelct the likely lack of room.
May be like this sort of thing?

Hope that helps

The light on the barrel was only fitted to 98> Bongos, along with a dash gear indicator panel, not sure you could retrofit one Ray.
Flossies' idea sound a lot more straightforward.

I fitted one!
Using one of these i had lying about spare....
http://www.nrebate.com/en/high-powered- ... rrency=GBP
Just drilled a tidy hole in the existing cover/cap & pushed the bulb through. Tells me if my lights on too when i remove the key, in silent beep mode...

(sounds a bit silly, Daylight easy to spot.)
Handy indeed!
