Local Motor Factors are best prices......not Halfrauds....unless you have plenty of cash to splash as they will be 100-200% more than the motor factor

You'll have to order by dimensions/terminal layout/amp hours as they don't list the Bongo.

Try one (or two) of these: superb so far and a five year warranty. Delivery from Tanya was prompt and efficient. Not the cheapest I know but it is handy to be able to swap leisure for starter battery or use jumper leads if needs be.

I have their 58043, and have found it excellent. Was so pleased I bought one for my boat engine and it is great too.

Halfords as they have 3 and 5 year warranty batteries on offer, Motorbitz are alright oh and Makro (if you have a trade card) have some good offers on right now too.

Even Halfords "offers" are way dearer than Performance Batteries normal price - i.e. about double.

Our local Halfords don't stock the battery for the TD, I got one from a motor factors, 100A/h around £70 which seemed OK to me.

Yes a bit expensive but personally i like peace of mind, warranty for up to 5 years, thats got to be worth something but then there are those on a budget i guess. Each to their own eh

IIRC all Performance Batteries products have a 4 year warranty and their more expensive ones 5 years so that's evens there then. You pays your money (more or less of it) and takes your choice.

Earlier this year I had to buy a battery from Halfords as it was Saturday and I was stranded at the side of the road - £139.99 I could have got the equivalent from PB for £69.99 delivered free.

Battery warranties are very hard to claim against as the manufacturer can often claim misuse such as alowing the battery state of charge to fall below 50%.

Not only are performance batteries god batteries fgrom my experience, they are well priced and under normal conditions their delivery service is fast.

Maxi_77, to quote your post
"I have their 58043, and have found it excellent. Was so pleased I bought one for my boat engine and it is great too."

I need a new battery too, my original is a Jap so I cant read the info on the sticker, so whats the best amp hour to go for mines a 2.5 diesel (99).
I measured it and it was 300mm long and I can`t see where I can gain the extra 15mm from as the one you quote is 315mm long there is no room to the left as the fuse carriers are allmost touching the side and it is as far as it will go to the right in the battery tray. what have others gone for :?:

get a big one - 95AmpHr or more - its well worth the little extra to have reserve capacity. I got mine 4yrs ago from http://www.batmanuk.com, good price delivered. Still as bright as when I bought it. Can't remembr size so check, but it should fit OK 8)
