Bored with Butties phase 51b

In this, the penultimate week of Bored with Butties, I give you one for Helen I think. I was trying for a mixed grill but I don’t have a grill in the Bongo. So a mixed griddle would be pretty close – and then I thought about just doing a mixed pork griddle.

The ethnic checkout operator did not appear to be at all impressed with any of my purchases

Gammon, pork chop, bacon, pork sausage, kidney, liver, black pudding & Spam

First off, you need to sort the kidney by removing the core. I’ve always fancied being a surgeon :-& ....

Image
.... Now is a good time to wash your hands as really fresh pig’s kidneys tend to smell of pig’s urine :-#

Image
Because of the definite desire not to eat undercooked pig’s offal, I’ve deployed a frying pan as well so I can fry one or two things in advance....

Image
....so get that kidney & liver going  ....

Image
....while you griddle the rest of the stuff....

Image
....sling some onions in to count as one of your five-a-day  ....

 TIP: as you only need a couple of slices of Spam for this, don’t be tempted to munch the rest as some kind of porky appetiser, that’ll ruin your appetite

Image
....and voila....

Image
....variations on a dead pig 8) – Mrs Muz says the sausages & onion look ok :?

Hi Muz...
Now that's GOOD 'N' HEALTHY......featuring those hard-to-get here items ....but the sentiment is perfect for me at the moment, as I am getting maudlin in my old age!!!....It reminds me of a pub in chalfont St. Giles , or was it Chalfont St. Peter....where they used to be famous for 1000 different sandwiches...plus...hanging on the wall was the original million pound note used in the film....well, apart from the sandwiches, they used to do an evening menu, and one dish was a very substantial mixed grill known as "The Executioner's Grill ( For that last meal on Earth)"....    ...believe me, if you could grill it, it was on the plate....I ordered one....what a struggle.....
So... Well Done Muz...you can call this one "The Executioner's Griddle" =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>
Cheers
Helen
