Bongo Fury

Does anyone know how to remove the piece of dashboard where the heater controls are. There seems to be 4 holes but they are not screws as far as I can see.
How do you get it off to change the bulb?

The holes are like in the radio ,you use a removal tool ,basically two pieces of wire you push in then pull the radio/heater control out.

Thanks that got it, cables are a bit tight but got it out and found the 4 little bulbs that have blown. Maybe I can change them for LED's ?

Got some LED replacements on order from www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk
286 LEDW10. about £1 each so shouldnt break the bank.

Hey tricky, unclipping the two cables in the foot-wells for the heat adjuster & direction adjustment flap assemblies, & pulling the radio forward a couple of inches out of the bracket, (The heat adjustment cable sometimes runs behind the radio?) will give a little slack to allow a little more space..

As said the heater cables are a bit tight, when I did mine the temp control cable pulled out of the clip in the footwell so it only opened half way afterwards. It is much easier to just unclip them while you do it and re connect afterwards.

Fitted the LED's this weekend and they work well. They dont fit quite as well as the originals I found they needed a blob of glue to stop them falling out of the holders. You have to check they are put in the right way round of course as they are polarity reliant, being diodes, just switch on to check.
The cables just about leave enough room to get it out, 2 of the cables can be removed from their clips but the recirculate cable you cant really get to.

Yep, it's under the bonnet on the side of the fan assembly? & can be drawn slightly through the rubber grommet in the bulkhead..
But you don't need to worry about that one!

The led's can have a habit of coming loose in the holders & flickering!
I used one in the fan speed indicator behind the plasma face & one in the light over the rear heater control.
I ended up modifying the holders (they are the same type.) & soldering connections making reliable!
