We have just bought our first bongo and the garage agreed to provide a new roof 'tent' because of the mildew so we are going back this weekend to get this done but have also now noticed the material on the underside of the roof also has spores and black marks and is quite damp- can this be replaced? If so we could ask the garage to do it?
It looks like it might be stuck on but can't be sure
thanks in advance and looking forward to being a bongo fury regular!
Another mildew post but can we replace the roof 'felt' ?

We have managed to rip ours dropping the roof with the access hatch up ;( on inspection and when I tried to stick it back its hard, totally stuck to the surface.
Get it sorted before you collect as once you have it it's your problem!
It could possibly be cut, pulled off and if you could get the stuff re-stuck but i have no idea what it is or where you could obtain it from.

Hi
Welcome to Bongoland
...put your approximate location in your details, and someone local may be able to help!
Sounds like you have a problem with water ingress...Get that fixed before you re-trim the roof!. Are they replacing the whole tent fabric?...that may cure your problem...as regards the roof fabric...is that the trim on the underside of the lifting roof?...I'm afraid I hardly know what ours looks like...we only raise the roof for increased headroom , and just flip the floor up!
. You might want to ask a few vehicle re-trimmers where to buy fabric...or just pick from a local fabric retailer!
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

If the dealer is not going to fix it, you've little to lose by trying one of the removal cleaners mentioned on her on previous posts. 'Astonish' (hydrogen peroxide) and Dettol mould remover (chlorine bleach) come to mind. If you can get 'Astonish' I think I'd prefer that. You may get bleaching with either solution, but there's a good chance you won't provided you don't leave it on any longer than necessary and you rinse off thoroughly with water.
