As the above mentions I have a problem. The Hold Light flashs - but only on and off - no pauses. TheRev Counter does not work, and then ..... after about 2 to 5 miles the hold light stops flashing at the same time as the rev counter starts to work. Any ideas where I should look to stop the illuminations?

chipped speedo?
or a sensor
the hold light will not flash a code unless you short the correct pins as per the fact sheet

rev pick up is failing, they usually start playing up after about 10-20mins of driving, the gear is selected by a combo of speed and revs, if the ecu loses either it logs a fault and flashes the hold light, not a big fix, 1 10mm bolt holds it in place, just in front/below the fuel pump, under drivers seat, whip it out and replace.

I have exactly the same problem! Must be some kind of disease!

Mine is under warranty from JAL, and Phil at JAL has just taken it back and set Dave off at Worcester mobile mechanics to sort it for me. Top blokes. No fuss, just getting straight on with it.

I have recently started experiencing the same problem whereby the rev counter starts playing up, then stops and the hold light flashes slowly. This happens for a few minutes about 5 mins in from a cold start. Engine seems fine with gear changes and revs seems fine in reality. When warmed up everything goes back to being normal (rev counter back and no hold light flashing).

Are there any checks I can carry out to try and isolate this problem?(although I'm not a mechanic I'm happy to get someone who is to check out any issues). I'm worried in case there is a more serious underlying issue - not sure what mind. I had lost some coolant and had a service yesterday, but there were no signs of coolant loss. Coolant does seem to warm up very quickly.

Can anyone give any advice on this please to try and help a mechanic pinpoint the issue?

I read up on this and got my mechanic to take out the NE sensor and give it a clean etc. Didn't do the trick. Rev counter still shows 0 from cold until things warm up and then works fine. Think the NE sensor needs replacing?
