Remote locking not working

Hi folks,

My bongo came from Japan with remote locking but it doesn't work anymore. I can hear a noise inside the drivers door when I press the fob but nothng else happens. Is it the actuator, can it be repaired or do I need a new one and does it have to be bongo specific?

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a fix.

Thanks,

Jack

It might just be the single added actuator that does the drivers door from the remote, does it work by hand when you press down and lift the internal lock button ? If so its not the relay or the 2 fuses that control the other doors, but the single actuator that is having a problem, might be worth removing the door card and seeing just what is going on.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the replys. It works fine when pressing the internal lock just the remote that is havng the problem. I guess it's the actuator then. I'll see if I can find one on ebay.

Thanks again,

Jack

Have you tried via the Breaking Bongos section. Someone there may have an original Japanese one available.

I've tried to pm each of the breaking bongo folk but my messages are still in my outbox. I presume it stays like that until they log in to check their messages.

Cheers

If it's a factory fit unit, you could try other similar year Mazda models (626, Eunos/MX5) for the actuator? Even Ford!!??

However, i would look first to see if the actuator gets a pulse from the remote section of the actual receiver, seeing as the manual locking works fine!!??
