Anyone replaced a bulb in the auto roof? I can find info on the flourescent rear and front light but not the one in the tent. Also the flourescent is dim but flickers on bright occaissionally. Do you reckon its a bad connection or old bulb?

Is the light simply not working? IF so, before you try changing the bulb, make sure it is not the "hidden switch."

Raise the AFT part of the way, then look on the passenger side (from the outside of the van) - you might need a step ladder, and on the end of the AFT rail at ther front there is a rubber button which activates the electric to the roof light when the AFT opens.

Press this button in and out a few times to see if the light comes on inside - mine was sticking in the "off" position, so no matter what I did to the roof light, I got no power.

I replaced our bulb in the roof tent; it was the same as the one in the little rear light.

actually does work but there is a problem with the roof fully raising. it keeps on beeping and doesn't lock.if ignition is then switched off rood tent light doesn't come on. it comes on when i'm raising the roof though. it seems either the motor is weak of the arms needs lubricating. or both

the roof sometimes need a helping hand with a slight push up, to help it to lock in the up position and to stop it beeping, mine does this ,and has done for a couple of years

Mine did this and a new flourescent bulb cured it.

I can't tell from your post if you still have a problem with the AFT light. If you do, the roof light should come on as soon as the AFT starts to lift I think. This is why I advise checking the hidden switch I talk about in my earlier post. I can send you a photo if you like.
