Whilst looking underneath from the passenger side I saw this :

looked at from above;

The rusty looking bit with 2 holes seems to be a bracket to tie the exhaust - but then there is also an opening in what looks like a machined face with 2 fixing holes. The rusty bracket holes dont immediately seem to line up with the holes in the machined face.

So anyone know what the machined face is for, is something missing, and what should the bracket on the exhaust be fixed to?

I was looking underneath for something called the 02 sensor - still dont know where it is!

Diesel - guess the 02 is petrol!! The hangar only concerns me in the sense of where it should be fixed to but I am wondering what that machine face opening is.
