Hello Bongo Folk

I have been an absolutely and utterly gormless aunt and have lost the cap for the expansion vessel for the coolant system

It is somewhere on the M27 now, probably about 1 millimere thin and about a foot wide now #-o

I am in Chichester at the moment, but Aunt Trumpet is located in Portsmouth and he could collect one today or tomorrow if anyone has one

I surely must head the long and esteemed list of buffoons who have done this stoopid thing... Even Aunt Trumpet found his still in the engine bay where he left it LOL... Even more gormless is the fact I have been driving around with it missing for 3 ' bleedin' ' days

Does anyone in Chichester or Portsmouth areas just happen to have a spare cap laying around ? [-o<

I have ordered one from Ian, but the bank holiday means I wont get it for several days...

Any help would be greatly appreciated =D>

I'm on 07990510999

Many thanks in advance

#-o I've done it myself before now! Isn't it annoying? Red or yellow cap? I'll have a look to see if i have a spare... but i don't know if it will get to you any quicker than the bongo shop cap.

Yellow cap on the header tank, red cap on the radiator. The different colours denote different release pressures...

    .....How dare you try and out do my gormlessness by being "completely" and "utterly" gormless.

However, when I first got our Bingois I took the n/s door card off to try and fix the faulty electric window.....only to be told on here that there is a switch on the drivers door to turn it off.....

So, my stupid friend, a nice try but I think you'll find that I have pipped you in the "being a burk" stakes.

I know you've managed to get it home but keep an eye on that level for a while.....now stop phoning up and annoying me you eat aunt. 8)

you just need a 1.1 bar cap on the expansion tank.....I have both red and yellow caps with 1.1 bar on them......it dosn't matter what you put on the rad as there isn't a "pressure release" spigot on it.....a plain non pressure cap would do.......and if you have a aftermarket rad with a release spigot on it....block it off.

Halfords probably have 1.1 bar caps......but really any old cap would do short term as long as it is a good fit
