We stayed here about three years ago, motorbike touring. It was excellent and the restaurant was good too. It is just at the start of the Mosel valley and you can walk into Luxembourg, there is a small town just over the river.

Hi, have looked at the site in Koblenz and location looks good but big busy site I think. I also looked at the site recommended by Volocette and looks like our cup of tea but a a bit rural - I fancy being able to walk to a village or town and having a drink/meal etc. Does anyone know of smaller sites in/near the same area within walking distance to a town/village.

If you are self-contained enough to not need any "on site" facilities you can stop overnight almost in the centre of Remich (car park on left (Luxembourg) side of river) which is just up river a few miles or if you want facilities I think that is a campsite on the Right/German side.

2 campsites on the German side

Remich is a lovely little town, we have stopped there many times and it has all the shops bars restaurants and cafes you could wish for. Ohh and cheap diesel - the coffee must be cheap as well the Germans drive over to fill their cars with boxes and boxes of ground coffee before filling up with diesel and driving home again.

I'm pretty sure there were shops and at least a cafe but I couldn't swear to it. I could be getting mixed up with places we went from there on the bike but I don't think so. Most of the other campsites along the valley are industrial scale and not my cup of tea, we landed on our feet with that one. Have you tried looking at the street view on google maps at the village?
