Is it possible to put direct power to my rear heater fan that is not working?. It looks as though the heater fan cannot be removed for repair without removing the whole rear heater unit. My object it to test the fan motor to be certain that nothing else is causing the problem. I can hear the relays etc working and the electrical lincages are functional...Is rear heater removal looking more difficult that it is I wonder? any advice would be most welcome. Thanks.

You will need to get close to the rear unit but in all models 1995-1999 the the actual Fan motor colours are Blue with Red stripe and Black with Red stripe the relay and resistor are all in the same area as the motor itself.

Thanks for your replies. Am i right in that the heater motor cannot be removed without the whole unit? Also is unit removal a major problem? I did wonder if the unit can be moved enough without total removal?

Hi
You can replace the heater motor in the rear without taking the whole unit out.
I replaced mine with no problem
Cheers

Hi rev pete,
Have you checked the fuse for the rear heater, there seems to be 2x30amp fuses No 15 for rear and No 17.
Both under the bonnet.
Cheers.

I did not realise there are two fuses for the rear heater i will check Thanks
Hi Helen I have tried to get the motor out but I think there must be a spring clip holding the casing together at the rear of the unit but I cannot see only feel the clip I will get a mirror and have another look can you tell me if I am right please.. There is a bolted bracket near the seat runner and two screws on top of the unit...and then what feels like a spring clip halfway down at the back of the fan unit...
Thanks folks
Pete.
