Bongo Fury

Hello all,
the central locking does not activate my sliding door.....I have attempted to remove the door card, with limited success, I removed the plastic door capping along the window, and proceeded to pop the clips out of the door card. managed to get about half of them out before i realized i had to try and remove the handle, and could not see how to do this, or get at the other half of the plastic clips that hold the door card on!!, so I put it all back and came in and wrote this post!....please help

Have you tried cleaning the two un-sprung contacts on the door pillar & the corresponding contacts on the door? They work the CL in the door!

Update

managed to get access into the door (thanks for the help guys!), but just cant get the lock operating "centrally", everything seems to be attached ok, but the small black box that seems to house the actuator just wont operate the rod left to right and vice-versa...everything moves freely, and you can see slight movement when the key fob is pressed but not too much (so there is power up to this final point), however, i cannot get the flipping cover off of the black box to see whats inside, or how it is/is not operating!! ....any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! (i hate being defeated)

Pablobongo, do you have a meter?? If you do.. Check you get a half second'sh pulse from the CL door pillar contact.. One locks, one un-locks.. (Can't remember which is which.) Use the door latch post to ground the meter....!

If you get a constant feed from one or both at the same time i don't hold out much hope for the sliding door actuator...

your actuator has failed, unlike most other locking actuators which just thorw from one end to the other then units in the doors are a rotaional type and sit in a middle position and spin one way to lock,othe to unlock and its not uncommon for them to become weak, the initial symptoms are the motor working once then not again straight away afterwards or the knob just pulling in half way, as you said you have some movement but not enough strenght to actuate the lock, find a breaker and whip the whole unit and plate out, just make sure you attach the outside door handle and make sure you have all the rod lengths correct before you put it all back together!!(speaking from experience lol)

mmmmmmm, ok, so what if i utilize a spare actuator from an old remote central locking kit that i have laying around?, surely if i have the power feed in place to the knackered "black box", and i mount the new actuator somewhere out of harms way, cut the feed to the "black box" and connect this to the replacement actuator with extra rods to suit, then surely we could be back in business?......could be a lot simpler than pulling all the complex plate arrangement out and replacing with on from a scrapper?

If yer getting joy from the red above.. It's worth avin a go...! It's just sorting the mechanical side of things...
