Last week We had a mini break at Houghton mill Campsite between st ives and huntingdon, its a great place in a beautiful little village right next to the historic houghton mill and on the banks of the river ouse, the site is very clean and tidy and the toilets and showers are immaculate, There's a large grass carpark next to the campsite owned by the national trust but its empty in the evening so it creates a large area for outdoor games, there's a couple of local pubs in houghton and a village shop or a 15 min stroll over the lock gates and across the tarmac meadow path gets you to the village of hemmingford abbots which has a nice country village pub The axe and compass, the weather was great the adults drank plenty and chilled out and we all had a fab time.

Sounds great, pity it's too far for us to travel for a weekend, or we would.
