I currently use a mini sat dish but have come across this product

They do both a HD and normal version and I was wondering could I replace my mini dish as its a bit of a faff to set up with one of these

It looks a good piece of kit and would be a lot easier to set up

This is an ordinary aerial dressed up to look like a Satellite style flat panel, if you currently use the Sat's then this won't work! Its only a normal terrestrial broadcast aerial.
There isn't any difference between HD and standard as far as the aerials are concerned, there all just digital signals.

Sorry I forgot to say I use a Avtex TV with built-in freeview so I thought this item could replace the mini dish

If an aerial is described as being any form of "Dish" but is used for terrestrial broadcast reception then the words have been dreamt up by a Marketing bod who earned himself a good bonus at the public's expense, they should be classed in the same group as Bankers.

There is a very simple adage for aerials, the more metal in the sky the better! Replacing metal with amplifiers only works to a certain level, after that it has no useful affect!

With all TV aerials, if you start with a crap signal and then amplify it, you just get amplified crap.

Point taken, I'll stick with me dish

But you can see it better - a much better quality of interference or digital freeze
Have to say that the amplified aerials I've tried have done nothing for the picture quality, unless in a reasonably good reception area anyway.
