Came out and coolant dumped on driveway, none left in header tank. Had nipped to shops earlier in morning and ok? Hoping it's just a split hose if so could RAC(have home cover) repare this? If not how would I get it to the garage for repair?
Was planning to go to Cardiff on tuesday so lucky it's happened now I suppose and not on the way!
Any advice gladly welcomed.

Call the RAC anyways, they will advise you what the problem is and if they can fix it I'm sure they will, they are very good

Cheers stuc but mine seems to have dumped from around the driver seat position, if rad caps presume would be towards front?

Check the hoses that go into the rear heater, they are in that area. In particular where they join the thin metal pipe. I have just put a silicone set on and found the end of that metal pipe was knackered holed.

Whilst under the drivers seat check the hose that goes down (with a built in sleeve) to the rear heater,it goes over the starter motor this one is prone to going up near the engine block the top is hidden a bit so you may need a torch to have a proper look!!

Certainly sounds like the hose to me....... I find they tend to go at the end of the outlet pipe from the block where the metal ends......ones I have seen develop a pin hole that is in the main fine until the engine gets really hot and then it opens up the pinhole to spurt out quite a big eruption, but they can then "seal" and that's a loose "seal" against the end of the metal....and can be fine for weeks then when a really hot engine occurs.....off it goes again....simple job but fiddly at the block end.....if you have large hands like me, but my glamerous assistant....OH....have to say that or I get a slap....does that end for me if she is about...

Thanks for replies.
Strange thing is wife's citroen c3 lost all water last week and ended with new rad fitted on Friday, due to corrosion. We were saying was ironic that given all the coolant issue with bongo was the citroen to go now it's doubly ironic I suppose, although not funny or cheap
Oh well the joys of car ownership!
