ABS control unit location.

Post by splitpin » Thu Jun 16, 2011 8:57 pm

My ABS warning light started coming on sometimes while driving and is now on pemanently after starting up, I've checked fuses and brake lights which are OK and I want to check sensor resistance from the control unit but don't know which one it is, can anyone help please.

Item O-01 has the sensors;

Previous page for connectors and colour codes for each sensor (look up the colour codes using the Image)

Thanks for that Geoff but it doesn't seem to tie up with the set up on mine which is a year 2000 new shape, the EC-AT control unit is there as shown on page 26 of the diagrams but the ABS unit which should be to the right hand side of it isn't there, or if it is it's well hidden, just wondered if you have an idea where else it could be, thanks again.

Can't say to be honest the Wiring Manuals the club has only go up to 1999 :-( Would be a bit surprised if they have moved it far.

When that happened to me not long ago after I hit a pothole my mechanic just checked the sensors at the wheels and told me that the rear nearside sensor was fubar. He never looked at the control box which is under the dash infront of the passenger seat on my 1998 diesel Bongo.

Ordered a new one which my mechanic fitted, boy are they expensive :roll: Everything is hunky dory now. :D
