Hi there
I want to fit an s type socket to my bongo and would like to keep things simple, can I "plug into" the wiring harness which runs to the rear cigar lighter, would the system take the load of a 12v fridge and or charge circuit for a caravan, or is there another nearby choice without running wire to the front battery of the bongo???.
Hope someone has some ideas there.
regards Phil.

The wiring to the back cigar lighter is very poor, there is a significant voltage drop above a few Amps.
I would consider running your own wiring every time including a decent sized earth wire rather than rely on the chassis connections as well. Its not a particularly difficult run there are several routes thru the engine bay or go up and above the window trim.

Caravan charge circuit should be fused at 30A, so no chance lighter socket will work, as said, run in new cabling,
on that note this is my most unfavourite job in the world lol, but its not that bad really, if ur using relays remember to use a switched live that isnt live during cranking (usually thick blue/white)

Many thanks for the advice, better plan a larger window in my schedule to run the cable/s for'd to battery connections, and get a chunky fuse to boot.
Best regards
