Connecting pipes

In the process of by passing my rear heater, after a failure of the metal pipe that goes over the gearbox, whilst doing this I want to by pass the t piece on the other rear heater feed as this is weeping slightly at the welded bracket point. I can modify the system by using elbow connectors, hoever the soon to be redundant over the gearbox pipe has two 90 degree bends....my question is could I cut them out and use them as the elbows, as they do not have the lip on the end of the pipe? Double clamp them maybe? If not where can I get some steel 16mm 90 deg elbows from?
The main engine pipes do not have a lip, but they are larger diameter, so the hose clamp might be a tighter fit.

Should seal ok as long as theyre cleaned up ok, obviously be careful of sharp edges, I'd pressure test the system once it's done to make sure.

Thanks for prompt response, and helpful advice missfixit!
Have directly connected pipe from thermostat to metal pipe, which I cut and cleaned on the header tank side of the t piece. Fitted a new bit of hose and used constant pressure clamps to give it the best seal.
Also did the same on the other pipe, the hose from the engine does just about flex enough to connect direct, I will really lag the pipe to prevent chafe. Also need to make a pipe clip up to support metal pipe now the t piece has gone.
Whilst at it I took out A/C condenser, compressor, filter drier and by passed pressure switch, so I can turn on rad fans when in sat in traffic.
Now have big pile of scrap metal on my drive (not the bongo, the bits I took off

)
Have renamed my Bongo to a Bongo Super Legerra!
