Hey guys ,had a new set of tyres all round about 2 months ago,had a puncture in one then had a wheel wobble quite bad noticed it b4 geting to 50mph.

So today i got the front ones done again, better but still a wobble at about 65mph,whats going on???? is it possable for the tyres to be faulty or could something else be making this happen,ie discs ect?or wheels(but used to be ok)

not sure if its normal to have this on a bongo at higher speeds??

I have the same problem after getting 2 new tyres fitted on the rear axle. Its quite scary as well!

Improved a bit after putting a bit more air in the front & rears, but I don't know what the answer is.

There's also a rumbling sound as well, but not wheeling bearing sound.

Just wondering if fitting some spigot rings would help.

Van was fine up until these new tyres, swapped rears onto the front when new tyres were fitted

if it needs spigot rings then get them fitted

or the wheels just centred on its nuts

Here's what is says on Spigotrings.com

Do I need a spigot ring for mine?

If your wheel does not sit perfectly in line with your hub and balance perfectly with no wobbling, then you may need to check that you have a spigot ring there. Many people who experience vibration from their wheels at over 60mph will most likely need a spigot ring, as this ensures that the wheel fits perfectly central on the hub. If this is you, then yes, you should try checking your tracking and maybe then consider spigot rings.

I would think that this is just a wheel balance issue. Can you drive through the wobble? If so this will be wheel balancing especially if you have had tyres fitted they probably havent balanced them correctly.

I had this problem and balancing made it slighly better, but in the end the suspension bushes needed doing. That solved it.

If the balancing is OK then have the suspension checked

I had this problem with aftermarket alloys, also of an unknown make. The wheels were fine when I bought the Bongo, somehow balanced in Japan without spigot rings. Once the front wheels came off for new disc pads, there was a horrible wobble over about 60. One very slow trip to Cornwall followed as the beast had been MOT'd and acquired the problem the day before.

Addition of a set of spigot rings was a complete cure. It is now fine at all speeds, without any further attention.

Just an update on mine.

Had 2 new 215/65's put on the front today, plus balanced both

My issues have gone, sailed up to 65 and past easy, no wheel wobble or noise.

When I had the last tyres done, the back were just swapped to the front and weren't balanced, which is maybe why I had these issues.

Most likely the wheels haven't been balanced properly or a weight has spun off. take it back to where the work was done.

Spigots only come in to the equation if you've changed wheels.

Are you sure the spigot ring was fitted after the puncture?
