Front wheel Bearings.

Currently in the process of fitting new track rod ends, Discs & Pads. But as this vehicle is 15 years old (only covered 70,000 miles though) is it worth giving it a birthday & whilst at it fit new front bearings? As the vehicle is a V6 and only rear wheel drive I don't have as much to do to change the bearings as no drive shafts to worry about etc.
Question, has anyone out there changed the bearings on one of these models and did they find it possible to do without removing the hub assembly from the vehicle? Or is it just one of those jobs where the hub needs to be off because the bearings need a press to get them extracted.
Advice would be welcome, as think it may be worth a shot now and then they will last the remainder of the vehicles life.
cheers
