Which light is doing the flashing the drivers area light, the main cabin light or the rear tailgate area light?
If its the drivers area light, what happens if you switch the spots on do they flash ?

R i g h t slight change of tack in that case!
Error 14 from the ECU is down as "BARO sensor (located within ECU)" see
http://www.philmcfadden.co.uk/MazdaDiagnosticBox.htm
looking up that with Google suggests that the ECU's have a built in Barometric sensor in order to adjust the engine due to changes in height and air pressure, also this is internal to the ECU.
So if we believe the fault code then it sounds like you need a new ECU, but others on here may have ideas ?
Has the ECU been reset and does the error code re-appear each time ?

Have you got a flat leisure battery (or has one been removed)? It could be a fuse ( No. 1 if I remember right) has blown. I have the interior lights etc. connected to th LB and when that went flat, and the fuse went with initial charge when split relay turned on, the glow plug lights would flash continously, and obviously the interior lights, mirrors, central locking would not work. All went back to normal when battery charged and fuse replaced.

Good point Manny !
Has any other work been done on the vehicle recently ? Might be worth checking that the plugs etc into the ECU are all OK, its located in the passenger footwell mounted on the firewall behind the glovebox. There maybe spare ECU's around either for checking that it really is the ECU at fault or even to replace it, not sure if all the ECU's are identical however ?

If you're in Stoke, wouldn't Ian Taylor (Bongo specialist, Stoke) be a good person to get to look at it (assuming you can't crack it yourself, with our help)

I considered the leisure battery (if fitted) might be the fault too.... The only time i've ever had a flashing glowplug light was when the relay had popped. (worth getting checked out as that stops the rad fans and scavenger fan from working).

Two causes I've seen: fuse 1 or the temp sensor next to the handbrake being unplugged / open circuit.

Good point Simon, but in my experience as well as flashing the glow light & running the scav fan, an unplugged scav sensor keeps the scav fan on when the engine is turned off too!
(Yep, i left mine unplugged once after a little work & thought i had a problem on a trip up to Gloucester!)
The scav fan don't switch on till after starting the engine then just stays on...?
What about checking the two wire key in ignition beep white connection block under the steering column? My glow light flashed with that unattached too!
