Fuel pump???? 2 litre petrol

Hello - I have just purchased a 2002 petrol Bongo and I am experiencing a lot of problems. Today the vehicle(automatic) was stalling at every roundabout or junction I stopped at. I noticed the rev counter was registering barely 500RPM on idling. After a succession of splutters and violent shaking it stopped and would not start again. The AA have recovered the vehicle but no warning lights appeared - he thought there may be a problem with the fuel pump. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance....

This was purchased from a dealer, the vehicle had been serviced with a cam-belt change. I also have a 12 months warranty so hopefully that will count for something.

Put V6 or 2litre in the title, more likely to get a useful response, sounds like the timing may be out from the belt being done?

Could it be as simple as the injectors need a clean through? Had a similar problem with my Saab, loss of power, juddering as if it was starved of fuel. Turned out a dose of injector cleaner in with the fuel, (mines a diesel) cleared it up. Now treat the Saab and bongo to a dose of the good stuff every 6-8k miles

As Kirsty says, unless it's a diesel you should state the engine type in the title - see http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=27420 - I've now done it for you 8)

Thanks - see what the garage say tomorrow - we really like the vehicle but not keen on the problems to date, hopefully when this is sorted it will be ok....
