Mazda not helpful - where to get parts? Temp sensors for V6

Hi All,

I'm after some pointers to where to get parts. I don't deal with Mazda's and have a 2001 Bongo Friendee 2.5 V6 2wd that needs the two temperature sensors on the coolant housing on top of the engine.

I have been trying for 5 days with the Mazda dealer, who doesn't recognise the chassis or reg and have been contacting Mazda UK who, as it's only a Mazda main dealer, don't bother to reply....

I found bongobits.com but they don't answer the phone in several tries today.

So I'm a bit stuck.... any ideas? Help appreciated

Greg

These are not available in the UK.

Only a few Mazda dealers are linked up to the Mazda Japan database, and even those that are will require the part number before ordering. Our list shows that the Mazda dealers in Warrington, Crayford Kent, Southampton, Christchurch, Newport, Huddersfield, Newport, Orpington, Romford & Exeter have access.

To get the part number you need to go to the Electronic Parts Catalogue, which you will find at http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... A0Bin.html

Alternatively if you are a member of the owners club, you can use the Partfinder service and we will do it for you! :D

Hi Greg,

The temp sensor is .......B59318840a

The gauge sensor is.......JE151851X

These parts are used in variouse vehicles,I think 626 MX6.

Ask your local Mazda parts dept to check these numbers or contact your local Motor factors, they shoud be able to cross reference the parts for you.

Cheers..

Excellent! If it can be confirmed that these are the same sensors found on other vehicles, let me know and I will update the compatible parts database.

Wey Valley Mazda in Weymouth seem to be ok with getting stuff for my 2.5TD, I expect they'd be ok with the V6 & 2litre petrol aswell. Took @ 2 weeks to get me a new AFT seal from Japan, @£20 cheaper than Vospers were quoting & & £80 cheaper than JAS were quoting 8)

Hi,they will probably be the same sensors that are fitted to the 2.5td engine.

Thanks very much for your help guys - a very friendly forum. I ordered the parts aftermarket, the came, the job is done and they fixed the issues.

To anyone else doing this job if your fans don't come on and you overheat, unplug the 2-pin thermo sensor on the coolant housing, if the fans run up now it's likely the switch has failed (this case). If the fans don't run up with the ignition on and switch disconnected, it's likely a fan control/fuse/fans/relay issue.

Greg.
