Refueling....

when refueling my diesel bongo i have to refuel very slowly gently squeezing the pump trigger otherwise i get covered in diesel as it shoots straight back out the filler neck. Is this common on bongos? (guy that sold me it said it was) if so is there anything i can do to prevent this other than very slowly filling up? i dunno possibly a blocked breather causing the problem?
Thanks Stuart

Hi,
It sounds like you have some sort of restriction in the filler pipe,it has been known for a broken ZVA spout to be lodged in the filler pipe.If it is causing you problems you will need the the filler pipe removed and the path(s) examined.
It could also be that a filter or anti theft device has been fitted.
Cheers..

Or as the OP says - could be a blocked/restricted/kinked breather -

It definitely ain't normal though & it ain't a bongo "thing"

I often use the truck pumps because they're quicker - even with the high flow rates from them I don't have an issue.
