				sediment light and charge light on, now flat battery?!!

				hi guys im new to bongos so please ignore my lack of knowledge!!
was driving along the sediment and charge light came on... we used van over night using auto free top, radio , sink etc no problems.
came home went to start van to put on drive and battery was flat and would hardly turn over, when usually it turns over in an instant..? please help with tips or answers!!! thank you

				have drained sediment from fuel filter as reccomended, dont know if that makes a difference to answers?thanks

				A friend's Bongo alternator failed last week and he commented that the sediment light came on.  I would test the alternator.

				Velocette is right, it is the fault code for a failing/failed alternator...
A similar thing happened on one of the Bongos in our group on a jaunt to Poland a couple of years back...

				thanks, will a garage be able to test alternator and batteries, and will lights go out when alternator is changed?

Yes they should... With the engine running the battery should get a charge from the alternator of between 13.8 & 14.5 volts, when tested with a meter gauge across the positive & negative battery terminals.. A healthy fully charged battery when tested should be about 12.5v with the engine off..
An alternator replacement is not really a big job time wise..?!! (Someone put me straight if i'm wrong..?)
You will have no more trouble with the warning lights when sorted...!
