Hi

my Bongo is in the garage for a slight leak at the moment, but once it was up on the ramp and the rear heater matrix hose waggled coolant gushed out

It has now been bypassed but I was wandering if its worth replaceing the matrix or just leaving it as it is ?

I can get a new matrix from ebay for £70 and fit it myself then just need assistance bleeding it, prob get the garage to do that bit !

Any advice on whether to change it or leave it, not used the bongo over winter yet so dont know if the rear heater is useful or not?

Cheers

Tony

For the cost and the ease of the job + with winter bearing down i'd get it done as its a large area for just the front heater to cover

If you use it, replace it.
Sounds as though you do not want to waste money on something you do not use.
Are you from Yorkshire or Scotland.

if the matrix is the damaged part, try contacting allans vehicle services at plymouth, ive heard they do a better than original replacement part, or a breakers.
the only prob with a second hand part maybe the internal condition of it.
not just a 2 min job though to remove and replace.

I have seen a brand new one on Ebay made from copper and brass for £70 so think I will bite the bullet and get one bought

Agree with not fitting a used one, i may end up in the same boat in several months time

not far off Yorkshire, i'm a lancashire lad, still like to watch the pennies though

ours was bypassed 2 years ago with no ill effect on the system as yet -but i dont generally have rear seat passengers to moan about it.

just ordered a replacement, i like to be toasty warm in winter :D

there are a couple of suspect hoses need replacing at the same time so may as well get it all done in one go
