Bongo Fury

Quick question.

The Bongo I bought came with 17 inch alloys and although they look ok they have seen better days and it seems impossible to buy new tyres with the correct load rating (mine are V91 which from what I've read on the forum is not really high enough). I may be able to to inherit a nice set of alloys off a friends 'soon to be scrapped' Celica but before I start to fiddle has anyone managed to fit a set of Toyota alloys to a Bongo before? The are 5 stud which is about all I know at the moment....not even checked their diameter but hoping they are 15's.

I just don't want to go to start fiddling if its actually not possible.

Be careful!

Check on the forum and google to get the correct stud dimensions and off sets and other technical gubbins with a search.

As for rubber there are some really good deals to be had online. Accelera tyres are load rated and excellent quality for a good price.

Also run a search for RX8 alloys and after trawling through you will see loads of data and pointers there. The 17's you are on do really compliment t'bongo.....so please keep the faith and have a good look around.

As long as the load rating is over 96 (99xl is best) you will be fine.

An outfit in Wigan called wheelquick have a very good reputation and are highly rated by peeps on the forum.

Also if your bongo is 4wd, please investigate the ratios and other technical gubbins as you could burn out the diff!

It looks like Toyota Celica wheels don't fit the Bongo - they are shown as having a PCD of 100 whereas the Bongo is 114 - see http://www.alloywheelsinternational.com/TOYOTA.html
