How much and where can you get the bits needed don't want to go too low

Easiest method is to place wooden blocks between the axles and body to your desired height and take a welding torch to the lowest spring coil until it softens and the vehicle drops - then chop off some of the rear bumpstop to suit - kinda drastic but..............................

Whichever way you lower it, bear in mind the Panhard rod (the steel bar which connects between the axle and the body at the rear will need to be shortened otherwise the van body will move across to the left of the original centreline.

Or, you could just enjoy the Bongo the way it was intended.

Indeed. How do people get on with the insurance when they're altering significant aspects, like running non-standard wheel & tyre sizes for instance. Say you had a crash and in court it became known that you're running 18" wheels which wasn't what Mazda supplied....

You will know when you are Too Low when the INSIDE of your tyre rubs on the body.

I must admit, those 2m barriers are pain in the a**, they seem to be everywhere around here. Is there a sensible way to get my AFT a tad lower?

DONT BOTHER ITS A PAIN!...speed bumps,slight bumps in road,drain covers..going to the garage..think about it looks cool but you grind on everything

Muz, when you pimp you just gotta tell the insurance, There's no point in being illegal after all the effort one puts into looking a bit different. It bumps up the premium, but hay, it's worth it. And if you do have a bump, your insured.

I tell the insurance company as I run a twin tank diesel/svo system with a camper conversion.

If I was asked before I had worked on it "is it modified" my answer would be "as far as I know, no". Do they know what a "standard" Bongo is? Is there such a thing?.....

we are with adrian flux and he will insure a shed with a mot..they dont care,other cringe at the thought og grey imports AND vegi oil?? is that legal..dear oh dear.
