Tesco is doing 5L Veggie oil for £4:50 (90p Litre); It's unbranded, produce of France, Rapeseed plus E900 anti-foaming agent: am I safe to give this a try? Was thinking of only 10% mix to start with?
Thanks for any advice to a newb..

Yup..i prefeer to mix with diesel out of tank then pour in,that way you know what% of veg and diesel your running on and if you get a cold snap you can top up with diesel,
But if using 10% you will not notice any changed at all, maybe a touch quiter and may even run better.
Go and buy a trolly load and keep in your garage,it keeps fine.
And carry a spare filter.
Lastly keep records on how much you(use) not how much you store, and never use more than 2500 lts a year....

Thanks all.
presumably with only 10% mix I can just add it to the tank? Tank is currently just over 3/4 full, so I thought try 5L, to start with, straight in?

That's OK if you do it immediately before a drive, otherwise it can settle at the bottom. I found it best to put the oil in before topping up with diesel.

Thinking of ordering a load on line. We used a 100% rapseed oil from Asda last summer so might be worth stocking up again for spring/summer

Diesel is 143-5P litre round here..this stuff is a significant saving at 90P, SO... dare I stick it in??
Oil in first then, diesel on top to make a decent mix?

You won't go far wrong buying it at that price and keeping most of it by for the summer.

Don't forget, as chipvan said, to carry a spare fuel filter with you. Veg oil will clean out your fuel system and may block your filter. It never happened to me, but there always Murphy's law
