A spot of research for a Saturday morning....

Well it was a crisp & dry® morning on Saturday so I decided to kill about five birds with one stone and do a spot of research, the underlying reason for which will become apparent around mid-April. From New Brighton on the Wirral the tide was out and the river calm, giving stunning views across to the Liverpool waterfront. An interesting viewpoint too, normally on any picture of the waterfront the Anglican Cathedral is to the right of the Liver Building....

From about 5 miles away

Come back Hilda & Stan Ogden, all is forgiven!!

From the Seacombe ferry terminal carpark....

From about a mile away
Then across to Birkenhead Priory, the oldest standing building in the Merseyside area....

St Mary’s Tower, part of the original Parish Church

Inside the Chapter House

....conveniently close to Cammell Laird’s no. 5 dry dock

Today’s photos were brought to you by the letter ‘A’
I did get complaints from Muzette on the way back that if I didn’t slow down she was going to be sick, and I was only trying to get to the chippy before it closed
