Well I don't have a Smart phone either just a laptop in front of me, with this piece of software;

Its quite handy, when the program is open you can just drag and drop any barcode image on to it.

and they also have a Webcam version, I've just put it on here as well, works OK on a seed packet! Just make sure you pop into options and tick the Copy to Clipboard option as otherwise it just displays on screen without being able to copy it!
The software is all free.
