Hi can anyone tell me how much of a job this is to do. I cleaned my engine off, due to a coulple of oil leaks and traced one to the rocker gasket( oil seeping from bolt head area) I tightened up the bolts as much as I dare ( torque setting anyone?) but after running for a few minutes, still leaking. Do I have to take the top cover off where the gear selector is?

Hi Stuc, not being much of a mechanic myself all I can tell you is that I had my tappets adjusted at a garage in Edinburgh in November 2010 after Ady told me that they sounded a bit noisey. The garage was recommended by Dandywarhol. Cost me £17.25 + vat from Bongobits for the gasket set and I was charged £60.00 all in by the garage for the job which took about an hour.
The torque settings and the tightening sequence are in the workshop manual. I can PM you them if you need them.

Make sure you change the rubber seals on the rocker cover bolts too. I would thought they would come in the pack with the gasket, but worth checking. I'm certain you'll need to remove the cover plate under the handbrake.

We just had a delivery from Japan this morning so I thought I would check whether the gaskets come with the studs and rubber seals. The answer is in the affirmative.
