Clunk.

My Bongo has developed a clunk when driven slowly over an irregularity in the road at slow speed. At a quicker speed it is not so obvious. I have tried listening with the window open, but that was inconclusive, I suspect the noise is travelling through the body of the vehicle. I think it's front driver side, but again not easy to establish. I've had a look underneath but no obvious broken bits or dissintegrated rubber bushes. Has anyone any suggestions? Is there a known item that fails in this area and how would I test it? P.S. no handling issues or undue tire wear problems.

Thanks for the pointers, ordered front droplinks, ARB bushes and brackets from E-Bay, total cost £40.50. Fitted this evening, Clonk gone. Fitted at 153716km, now to see how long they last!

Just a sad update, just checked the droplinks whilst changing a water pipe, I've done less than 10,000 km and 15 months, all four rubber boots on new droplinks perished to the point of being split, I'm on borrowed time. Less than impressive E-bay purchase. You have been warned.

Yours did better than mine. My eBay drop links only lasted 4 months. Buying eBay parts is a minefield. I should have known really - when the drop links arrived, the rubber had that 'coal tar' smell to it that crap Chinese rubber tends to have.

Have ordered some 'Meyle' ones (eBay again  ) that have a 4 year warranty. Others have mentioned them on here.
