I don't have the engine manual to hand for torque settings, but make sure you replace the rubber seals on the bolts unless they're in good condition as they tend to harden with age and temperature.

Service manual quotes 5.0-8.8Nm for the rocker cover bolts - my wrench doesn't go that low! Each bolt has a metal stand-off which should be snugged down but not compressed.

On a genuine Mazda head, there is a small recess for the shoulder (silvery bit) of the screw to locate in. On some aftermarket heads, the recess isn't there.
The silvery bit is basically a spacer.
On the aftermarket heads, you need to saw off a short length of the silvery bit with a junior hacksaw (it's quite soft material), otherwise you will get an oil leak around the cover.
