You might have to go for a smaller more basic site? Or were you looking for something a bit more luxurious? We've just come back from a weekend at a site very close to Wales just outside Coleford (Cherry Orchard Farm if you want to google it). They're the type of place that would possibly have space, but although they have a shower and 3 loos, that's about it!

We had a great time there though - there's lots to do around there, and a great pub only 5 mins walk away that does delicious food :-)

Not much in your desired location, but have a look here http://motorcaravanners.eu/index.php?op ... &Itemid=88

They aren't all free, either. For some there is a charge but for some all you have to do is have a meal in the pub.

I don't think you need to be a member, as these are also published in Practical Motorhome magazine.

Wherever you end up, I hope you have a great time.

we will be at the Anchor, High Offley.

Site is very basic, some hook ups, no shower, outside pub loos.

Just what we like plus great walking along the canal towpath, but remember it is basic camping.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

Hi Nikki

I know a lovely place in Allithwaite, LA11 7QJt that could possibly accommodate you. Lovely big field overlooking the fells, hook up, shower, use of kitchen and toilets. £12 on hook up, £10 without.

Image

It is our local playing field and I do my best to raise funds to keep it just that it is a Registered Charity btw. We are pretty much close to everything, two pubs. Coniston probably 30 mins Windermere/Ambleside the same.

If anyone else wishes to use our facilities at any time please contact me. I am just literally around the corner and you will be made most welcome.

You could have a look at the Wild Camping website.

http://www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums/POI-DOWNLOAD.php

A lot of these seem to be car parks and laybys but you might find something to suit.

Or try asking at pubs, many are happy for you to park up if you use them.

Just to bumping this up to be honest. I have already been contacted by a BF member who wishes to use the site during the Jubilee weekend at Allithwaite. It is a clean friendly open site for anybody who wishes to use the facilities pretty much at any time of the year.

If the weather looks good and you cannot get in anywhere send me a PM you will be made most welcome by me and our community.

Hello Friends,

If anyone wishes to get away and has no where to go this coming weekend this could be an ideal spot for you. I am not hosting a meet as such this time, so far there is one party coming and we can accommodate more.

We have had some welcome rain today. Welcome for me cos I didn't have to go to water the urban garden [lol] I am an Aquarian anyway.

It is a lovely tranquil spot and if anyone just wishes to turn up DO you will be most welcome by me or Heather.

Clearly you have not visited Allithwaite Lancyman. Our field is a register charity to keep a field a community field, not lining anyones pockets.

My vested interest is that is local to me and a truly beautiful open space. If you wish to advertise where you are going to be please open a post of your own, thank you.

I will visit Allithwaite soon I hope. I know
You are mentioning it for all the right reasons, and I'm
Fully behind it. However, the post was on open request for help.
I made a suggestion based on helping someone get away at the
Weekend. I have no vested interest in advertising anyones site.
