				Hi there
Our Freda's tyres are the same size front and back. We've been told the front ones should actually be smaller than the back ones, is this correct? It's not 4x4. We're replacing them this weekend.
Thanks!

You can use the same size tyres all round. Lots of people use 215/65/15. The original tyres are narrower on the front, but have (almost) the same diameter. It is important to have tyres front and back that are the same diameter on a 4x4 Bongo, as the viscous coupling will lock up if there is a greater than 6% difference in the rotational speed of the front and rear tyres. However, on a 2 wheel drive Bongo, the difference in the size of the tyres front and back doesn't matter.

				What he said

. Another advantage of using same size all round is that it makes it easier to swap wheels around to spread the wear more evenly. Get yourself a full size spare if you haven't already.

Most importantly, make sure your new tyres are the right speed & load rating (particularly the load rating) otherwise your friendly insurance company can easily squirm out of a claim should you have a bump
