Hello chaps,
Can anyone recommend a suitable engine oil for my Bongo 1996 that has covered 70,000 miles? It is only for topping up the engine oil, not replacing. I am also planning to cover a lot of miles very soon, MOT and service due end of September. Don't know if that makes any difference to choices!
Thanks much in advance, haven't a clue with these things as you can tell
Steve
P.S. Cannot find the 10W/30 oil recommended in the fact sheet anywhere!

If you don't know what oil is in the Bongo...I guess it wont really matter which oil you use!?
Have you changed the oil since purchasing?
There is plenty in the forums about oils...do some searching........finding oil can also be the same....a bit of a search

5w/30 is also OK

Synthetic - buying 3x2lt is enough for a full change.
Or

Semi synthetic. you'll need more than 1x5lt though for a full change.

Will this do? The more I read the more I get confused on this topic.

Most garages bung 10W/40 Shell Helix in because it's what they bulk buy. I've always used that with no problems.
