Please do not worry, many bongos run without an hitch for years without any problems, if you keep on top of servicing  Overheating can occur if the coolant system is not maintained as per the handbook. Coolant should be changed every 2 years, and the system must be bled via the bleed pipe under the passenger seat. The radiator should, in my opinion be flushed at the coolant change, and any leaks however minor should be repaired.

The handbook has service items listed and the coolant change is there. Keep the coolant circulating properly and you should have no problems.
