I should be there on Friday as usual hoping for a good day on the hills on Saturday. If it is lousy on Friday night we can always forsake the camp fire for a cosy wee dram at the Clachaig Inn a mile up the road.

Do we have to book for this or is it OK just to turn up?

We'll probably try for the two nights unless the forecast is awful.

I'd say just turn up. Who in their right minds goes camping in October???! :D

I suppose a quick call to give the guy an idea of numbers - what are we at... 10 or something?

Yay!! If the forecast is awful, are you going to stay at home or just do the one night?

Hi

We'll definitely be there for one night even if the weathers grim :D

I would just turn up and first one there ask them if you can go in the usual bongo place as there will be others coming for the Saturday night. I may phone and give them the heads up though, :D

Is it worth me taking my fire pit? I've not christened it yet. Plus it could double-up as a BBQ.

Thanks to Kirsty (missfixit70) for the idea of using a washing maching drum.

If it gives out more heat than our usual open fire and with less smoke blowing around. Someone brought something like that along to Gibraltar Farm last year, it was great. I've just broken up two old kitchen chairs, will they be ok for the camp fire or will the varnish on them give off funes. :-k

I'll bring the tarps.

Looks like Friday night is an aft downer and an evening spent in the bar of the Clachairg Inn rather than round the camp fire. This should make Donald Happy. :D

Looks decidedly more promising by the looks of the forecast as of this morning.

Solution - Go straight to the bar of the Clachairg Inn and let you kid drive us all back to Red Squirrel campsite when we crawl out at closing time.
