Bongo Fury

Has anyone stayed at this site? http://www.greenhillholidays.co.uk/

We are looking for a potential venue for the Southern Softies meeting to be held next April (18 to 21st), and this looked OK.

Any experiences? Anyone want to go and check it out?

Not stayed there, but I drive past Landford twice a day so happy to pop in & check out the facilities. Nicely located for the New Forest, Lymington, Romsey, Salisbury, etc. Really good Indian restaurant nearby http://www.landford.royaljaipur.co.uk/index.html.

We stayed here in March this year. We were in the adults only section. Have some pics of the site. The new toilet block is excellent but the old ones are not so good. They have built a kids area and a sort of cafe/entertainment clubhouse, not too sure as it was not open then. There is a site walk around another pond which leads through a gate directly into the forest. Some people fished in the lake. We would go back there.

The deer tended to be in the area behind the pitches. The ponies were a short distance through the gate into the forest.

Hmmm, looks good. I know someone who would like to camp there

Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times whilst on the park, and exercised off the park. For the avoidance of doubt dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on the dog walk and dogs are not permitted in the toilet and shower blocks. Owners are required to clean up after their dogs, and dogs must not be left unattended on the park. Dogs are not allowed in the Wildlife Haven area so as to preserve the stress free environment for the wildlife.

Ah, missed that. In that case, it could be a go-er, will have to check dates.

Unfortunately the site will not take more than 20 units in their Touring Park. Their rally field will take 50 Bongos, but there are no electric hook ups. So the hunt continues.

Looks like a good site. If the rally field is next to the touring park, I for one am not bovvered about leccy!

I am with Jilly on this one. With a good leisure battery a weekend without leccy is quite bearable. We are the South after all, if we get snow everyone panics and hibernates until it goes away If it gets too cold there is always the Cuckoo to squash into for warmth. A cider house and pub of some repute for those who like thing rural and their scrumpy strong . Not far across the forest is the Royal Oak, another famous forest pub, surrounded by brilliant walks. Salisbury is just up the road. Historic and again good pubs and a vast Saturday market. Stonehenge is nearby plus other historic sites.

This site has so much going for it, not far from M3 and M27. Well placed for those from the West, midlands and points further.
