Radio change

Here I am thinking modifications 2-3 months before the Bongo arrives!

Knowing the limitations of West of Scotland reception I though I'd ask for opinions/experience of what works best.

Gary at Campers Scotland tells me an FM expander is the 1st thing I'd need if I keep the fitted unit.
Is it likely it'll have an aux input that our iPod could use?

If you are talking about original Jap radios then if you look into the seach facility you will find that most people have binned them and replaced them with British spec radios as even with expanders their use is rather limited.

Hi - mine came with the original radio with FM expander - lasted all of 5 mins. You are much better off replacing with a new UK model though you will need to get a Mazda Stereo harness . I got mine on eBay

Then it is just plug and play.

Mine also came with a Jap system, removed it and fitted a double din JVC dvd player be careful what you fit there is not a lot of depth in the dash.

Thanks for all the advice folks =D>

We just got our vehicle details in and it has a radio/cd player.
If there's an aux input then I'll take time to consider the options.
FM and DAB on the Scottish west coast is a joke, so we've been using our iPods a lot in the car on hols.

I seem to remember in car satellite radio in the Shetlands way back in the '80's.

PS Just checked details on Sirius, that option is rejected!
