Fantastic road trip, could we have a section just for road trips to use to inspire us?

I had rarely, if ever thought about the Orkneys, but now I long to see the islands. Just last night on Countrywise (ITV 8.30pm) they had a programme all about the Orkneys and I swear you must have followed each other around. Castles, Italian Nissen Hut church, standing stones etc etc. oh what a charmed life you have!

Cheeky barstewards!! - check out their programme on the online ITV player at about 7.00 minutes http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=323818
Then compare that with where I was camping - I'd say they were in exactly the same spot. Why do they have to copy my ideas?

They are amazing pics of the lost weekend of the Muzman.
What I want to know is what you had to do or buy Alison in order to blag this without a serious battering

I'm going to have to have a word with that wife of your's, she needs to set her sights a bit higher, unless the single malt was£10,000.

What a fantastic set of pictures Thanks for posting.
Re Scapa Flow, it may have been mentioned on the tv prog, but this book is one of the best I've read if you like adventure stories.
