Bongo Fury

Yes another r***y water leak..this time through the roof.

My bongo is NOT a freetop...just the single storey version.

Having just replaced water pump followed by radiator I thought I'd seen the last of water leaks...NOT SO

Returning to the vehicle this afternoon after a downpour water was streaming from around the sun roof (particularly around the rear edges onto my nice clean (and now soaked) seats. Sun shade slide also soaked.

Had a good look around but can't find any visible problems. Suspect roof may have not been fully closed but as I havn't opened the roof since before a big storm last weekend I think it must have been shut.

Anyone else had similar proplems?

As another Bongalow owner (but sans sun roof) I would suggest you check the mastic seal round the sunroof frame (assuming it is an aftermarket roof) They are notoriously difficult to seal beacause of the corrugations in the roof. Check at the front of the roof as well as this is one case where, by cappiliary action, water CAN flow uphill!!

Mine does have a factory fitted sunroof & sliding blind.

Preshumably same roof as freetop without the freetop (hole is same size)

Great for watching wildlife.

Well if its factory fitted it is a few years old and the mastic may have dried out, so I stand by my original suggestion!. Go and get some black mastic from motor factors and go right round the frame. I would be interested to know if you cure it.
I had a constant boot full of water in my old Citroen CX and the Dealer even used their sonic hole finder but could not find it. It turned out to be a pin hole in the mastic sealing the petrol filler neck.. KEEP LOOKING!
