Paint colours

Hi

My Bongo is suffering from the dreaded wheel arch rust. At the moment it's not bad but I am looking to arrest it before it gets this way.

My query is, I have seen the touch up kits on the Bongo shop but am a little unsure on the colour. It says on the panel in the passenger door that my paint is 14E. The Bongo is the 'common' green one. With this in mind, which paint kit do I need?

Also, I have been advised by a classic Land Rover enthusiast to use Q-Rust to treat the beginnings of the corrosion. What do people think? I am looking for a product that means I can sand the worst of the rust away, treat with the product, and paint and lacquer over the top. I'm not looking for a perfect finish, just a colour to blend in fairly well.

Thanks for looking at this

If it is only slight I think a spot repair is OK. You have to remove all the rust and just use the Kurust or jenolite on bits you can't reach. You will probably find the metal is perforated and the rust will have started between the inner and outer arch are in close contact, To do it properly and make it last is is a lot of work.

It's in the factsheet here http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/member ... /paint.pdf - neat green over silent silver.
