Not a recognised campsite but we spend an enjoyable few hours here on new years day ( no booze till 5pm, a bit of a record for NYD)
It a remote location about 7 miles north of Gatehouse of fleet in Galloway. The viaduct is still impressive and if your a walker there is access to some wild locations. There are some picnic tables spread about the area and its ideal if your looking for peace and quiet.
The Viaduct carried the old "port road" line from Stranraer to Dumfries and the rest of the uk. During the 2nd world war some of the US men and machinery bound for war landed at Cairnryan and travelled along this route then south to europe.
Its a shame that this scenic route was seen off by Beeching in the 1960's. the more adventurous can walk / cycle along the old line towards Mossdale and the now defunct Loch (translates to Lake for any southern folks) Skerrow halt where the steam engines used to stock up with water.

Looks a nice spot for some wild-camping. We did a bit of that in the Galloway Forest Park a couple of years ago, midge-heaven but still good
