Bill's retired. so has my bongo... :-(

Just had an email from Bill and Campercraft is no more.
Does anyone know any other good quality Bongo mechanics in central Scotland? I know there is a bongo garage in Tillicoultry but I've never used them for mechanical stuff before. Any help much appreciated because I need some coolant jobs done (and I need someone who knows what they are doing)

I've no idea... it's perhaps a Bongo cherished more than others so coolant and beer may not mix well.

Hi
Yes we use Campers Scotland at Tillicoutry (bought our van from them). They've always been very helpful and are also quite reasonable.

excellent - thanks Sara. I'm based in Bridge of Allan so Tilli is pretty convenient for me. It's a bit more than a bleed job unfortunately!!!

I met Mark from Logans garage in Leith when I was riding at Inners at the weekend. He said he's worked on quite a few Bongos. Might be worth giving him a call.

Thought about using them as the are on the "bongo garage register" however Tony (mountaingoat) recons they are that busy doing all Edinburgh's Taxis you would struggle to get booked in. I'm not sure if it's just services they do or if they can do a full bongo bleed. I'm due my first full service in June so it will be decision time where to go before then. Tony gave me a contact down the borders. (Galashiels)

You have got your garages mixed up Jim. The garage that I was refering to was GBL Motors of Duff Street in Dalry which is run by an old school mechanic who is so busy that I heard he does not want to do another coolant change again as they took him too long to do. The mechanic is the father who is not much younger than myself while his son handles the body repairs side of the business.
It was dandywarhol who recommended this garage to me.

Flying down to Norwich from Edinburgh on Thursday to collect it. Got to get up in time to catch the 5am bus to Edinburgh to make it to the airport on time. arrrrrg!
This is the very one, its got the most powerful engine. Well I could'nt take anything less powerful than a Bongo could I. Just click on the pickies to blow them up.

Going down to Essex to see my big sis and stay the night there after I have collected my new motorhome. Looks like I am in for a long stay if the weather gets any worse. At least I know my way around down there, I used to live on the opposite side of Brentwood from my sis for 16 years when I worked in London.
